Kevin Deary brings over 30 years of military and executive leadership experience to the Board of Directors of the Allied Forces Foundation.
Kevin S. Deary is currently a Department of the Air Force Civilian (GS-13) working in the Plans Directorate at United States Special Operations Command. Kevin manages a team that reviews, and staffs plans for approval and implementation. Kevin routinely coordinates and works with a multi-disciplined staff within the Headquarters, working through complex issues to prepare plans for approval at the Senior Leader level.
Kevin is a retired Sergeant Major and veteran of the U.S. Army, where he spent 25 years in the Special Operations Forces. Kevin served in various tactical units, as a team member, and at various levels of leadership. Kevin functioned at the team, Battalion, and Headquarters level. Kevin served several tours of duty in both Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), and in Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq), and other contingency operations throughout his career. Kevin is a Purple Heart recipient from Operation Enduring Freedom in 2005. Kevin’s career culminated as a liaison officer at United States Special Operations Command, providing advice and assistance on matters regarding special operations.
Kevin lives in Tampa, Florida with his wife (Katryna), and three daughters (Delaney, Brynn, and Ava). Kevin is an avid fisherman and has a passion for outdoor sports and activities.
