Vicki Downey is the National President of the Daughters of the British Empire in the USA.Born and educated in the UK, Vicki moved to New York in 1999. Initially she was responsible for the immigration and importation department of a large Italian shoe company before transferring to a small independent Immigration Law firm in 2002. In 2006 she was able to leave the corporate world to concentrate entirely on her charitable endeavors.
As well as her responsibilities with the Daughters of the British Empire she is currently an Ambassador for the World Class Learning Academy in NY, a member of the Board of Councillors for the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, on the Business Advisory Board for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program and is on the Board of Trustees for the Mountbatten Institute. Vicki has also served on the boards of The St. George’s Society in New York, chairing ‘The English Ball’ for four years, and The Victoria Home in Ossining, NY. She is very active with her church, the Cathedral of St. Patrick’s, as a Lector and Tour Guide. Vicki lives in Manhattan with her husband Jeff and young son Michael.
