AFF supporter Daniel Rogers intends to run through the “Valley of No Wires” in the Bird-In-Hand Half Marathon! Hot air balloons, amazing course through Amish farmlands, rest stops at one-room schoolhouses, water stations staffed with Amish children, fantastic finisher’s medal for all who complete the half marathon, guest speaker, bon fire and s’mores, plus all the usual stuff – tech shirt, chip timing, expo (with items for purchase), pasta dinner, food, age group awards, and so much more!
In Daniel’s words:
“Back in 2015, I was involved in a bad skiing accident that essentially ended my military career. I had 6 broken vertebrae, cracked a 7th, broke 4 ribs, punctured my right lung, broke my collarbone and now have a brachial plexus injury in my right arm. At the time, I could only move my pinky and ring fingers. Through electro therapy and strengthening, my arm is coming back and I do have full range of motion. I am still working on the strengthening of it. I also had to learn how to walk again and was put in a turtle shell for 4 months as my back healed. Praise God that it did heal up and I am once again able to run and walk with no problem.
I first heard of your organization by way of the Care Coalition and was invited to do the Yomp in 2015. It gave me something to strive for and after only 6 months of healing I completed the bronze section of the course.”
Good luck, Daniel, and thanks again! Sponsor Dan here:
