Dr. Paul Beresford-Hill, MBE was born in Dublin, Ireland, of both Irish and British parentage.  He was raised in Rochester, Kent, and attended primary and secondary schools there.  On graduation from Oxford University in 1972 he taught in Milton Keynes before moving to the United States where, in 1978, he became founder-Headmaster of The Anglo American International School.

Paul began his doctoral studies at Oxford and completed his EdD in education at Columbia University in New York. Following a period as Adjunct Professor at Columbia and Research Associate in the Department of Educational Studies of Oxford University, he moved to Bangkok, Thailand, where he was the Headmaster of the Bangkok Patana School, the largest British International School in SE Asia. He returned to the United States in 2004 and assumed the role of Director General of the Mountbatten Institute.

Paul and his wife, Kathryn, have two sons and make their home in Westchester County. Paul’s grandfather was one of the original Old Contemptibles and was one of the few who served for duration of WWI.  His father saw service in the RAF during WWII.
