Remembrance Sunday & Armistice Day 2015

Several directors of the Allied Forces Foundation, Inc. and the Allied Forces Foundation Pipes & Drums were present at the Remembrance Sunday Ceremony and Observance held at the Queen Elizabeth II September 11th Garden (formerly the British Garden/British Memorial Garden) in Manhattan on Sunday, November 8, 2015.

Mark A. J. Beaumont, a Director and Vice President of the Allied Forces Foundation, laid a wreath in memory of all those no longer with us but never forgotten. Also laying wreaths were representatives from branches of the military, Commonwealth countries, prominent New York organizations and Societies.

Members of the Allied Forces Pipes & Drums, the official band of the Garden, performed during the ceremony.

Rodney N. M. Johnson, MBE, Vice Chairman of the British Memorial Garden Trust, Inc. (and Honorary Chairman of the Allied Forces Foundation) introduced Nick Astbury, HM Deputy British Consul General in New York, who officiated and led the laying of the wreaths.

Members of the Pipes and Drums played once again at the Garden on 11.11 when HRH The Countess of Wessex (spouse of Prince Edward) visited to pay her respects to the fallen on Armistice Day.
