Marine Corps Marathon, Washington DC

One of the signature events in which the AFF participates annually, the justly called “People’s Marathon” is the most enjoyable of all marathons!

The AFF will once again field an increasing number of runners in signature groupings  of both wounded & fit veterans competing under the auspices of the AFF; some raising funds for the AFF directly and others for their regimental charities.

They have served in combat in the same conflicts, and now they run to raise awareness and funds for the common wounded.  All funds raised for the AFF will go towards supporting WII, family members and care givers in special activities, events and training that enable recovery and the ability to share with fellow warriors who have been through similar trials.

Andy Scott, a wounded British veteran, is seen here with other runners from AFF's TEAM SideXSide (DC) on the Marathon route
Andy Reid, a wounded British veteran, is seen here with other runners from AFF’s TEAM SideXSide (DC) on the Marathon route

“TEAM SideXSide (DC)” proudly represents the fallen, wounded and families of the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Denmark and this year for the first time Georgia and Lithuania. AFF is also facilitating the participation of a team from the Gurkhas. All these Allied nations’ runners have served their countries and protected their freedoms.

Please will you join us and support our wounded for the 5 days in Washington DC; where we host them with VIP visits to U.S Senate, Pentagon, Arlington Cemetery, entertainment and fine dining with Cheesecake Factory, a BBQ with the US Legion and much more.
